Soo more stuff.

Ok its been a while since my last one due to various troubles and stuff and exams so lets see what I can remember to add.

WELL there have been a lot of goings on lately on Aven first was my nearly becoming the shortest moderator in Aven history, I need a round of applause for my foolhardiness I think, but thankfully that has passed and once more I am reigning about many with now an extra forum, that is right peeps I now am lord of Alternative languages.

We once more have mod elections this time for the Off-A moderator position and for Open Lounge, we say good luck to all members taking part in this and I hope you are lucky, so far I can see many members taking part new and old and some reoccurring such as The Evil Cashew, she left Admining due to trouble and now she is back to try and whack you into shape with the Cashbat, my Commiserations go to Ellie also, oh well you may be a month off but there will be time in the future to try to good luck for in the future.
But I hear you cry, or at least say in a well orated voice, new positions... well that must mean more mods have left!!, and yes this strange few months of rapid mod loss has continued but this time its two veteran mods leaving for new blood to get a try, they have been mods for a good amount of time now and we have a lot to thank them for, so Tanwen and Lonepiper we say thank you for the time you modded you will be missed and we hope to see you on the forums still.
Now next in the goody bag is the Asexual Collab channel - the apply named Piece of Ace is up and running and we have our twelve members now making videos, I will add a link at the bottom of this post or the page, I have watched them and have to say they are very enjoying, and I would strongly say to anyone to watch them, my personal favourite has to be Aim's or Fix as we know our prince of waffles on the forum (some may not get the waffle comment), it was excellent in my opinion, but they were all to a high standard, informative and often amusing such as Cales hair or Aere with the comment that made me laugh "Wow they looked photoshopped".
So what else, well we have had a few more Aven couples, good luck to them, Colt and Rall's meeting, hearts seeking love from across the sea and sky, with the ridiculously cute meeting Colt posted. I want to say a shout out to them for proving to all avenites that it may be hard but even a meeting on aven can lead to a wonderful relationship, so though you may despair there will be someone out there even if far away so hope and persevere and one day you will hopefully find your happiness.
So finally we have had some meet ups going on, I myself just went to one the other day, and it was as fun as they always are, I hope to go to more of them and see more of them, any new members I would not hesitate to give you advice to go to one, they are lots and lots of fun.

Going On in Aven

Ok this is less of a blog article and more of a list but its some stuff going on:-

So yes its just been the main man David Jay himselfs birthday, I think all of AVEN wishes him good wishes and hoped he had a pleasant one.

Ally O Mally Ally the Ally Cat brought to my attention creation of an AVEN youtube channel thingy mbobby which is holding auditions for people to join it, so if you think you have something to add then please send in a vid with the conditions met and let yourself be seen and heard.
Anywho its a cool idea and I wish all the best of luck with it.

Hopefully we will be having an Avenues out soon, I know amazing as it is, its only just taken under a year, maybe I will just make it yearly then I can't miss any deadlines for it.

The big dirt weekend III has just finished, I hope everyone enjoyed it and I'm sure people look forward to a fourth in the future.. no pressure Joshua.

Glomp day was a big success so there will be a 12 days of fun, with a day each month for it, so look forward to it.

Anyway as you can tell I could not be bothered to properly blog today so enjoy my list.

Elections End

So yes this is a little late but the elections have ended, and there are three new mods, Nigel won by a landslide and Nalle dominated for pretty much all of the Q&A election, of course the third mod was the most surprising of all, me, I know its a mystery to me too, then again It probably had a lot to do with the awesome posters Jicragg did which I thank her for again.
It was an eventful election and in my opinion was one of the funnest I have ever seen with lots of fun posters and messages, the two poster protagonists of course being the aforementioned Jic and BiPolarBear (formally Imonroe).
As for the votes themselves, well its was pretty neck and neck between Pretty Eyes and Nigel in tea and Sympathy, until Nigel suddenly caught steam and stormed ahead, as for the Q&A, it was the most even election I have seen in a long time, and the only real difference came towards the end, as it went on apart from Nalles unstoppable and rightful lead, a bunch of people came close until finally it was me and FallenAngel neck and neck until I suddenly got a bunch of votes, I'd say stranger things have happened but they really haven't.
So leaving myself aside, I have to wish good luck to Nalle and Nigel they will make awesome mods and I wish them a lot of fun in the chaotic sekrit realm normal Avenites only dare to dream to hope to think of.
Also that tip CaleCeaser gave was go on chat and make yourself known.

Election Time -add witty title-

So its once again time for elections, and soon it will be time to vote for 2 new A&Q mods and one new Tea and Sympathy, though we could have one person take two of those spots DUN DUN DUN, surprisingly enough it seems a lot more people are willing to become moderators these days, unlike a while ago. When I remembered 5 or so would run we now have 11 or more people for each post in this most recent run, some new to running, some who have run before, I myself am running in this election, salivating and licking my lips at the possibility for some modly fun in chat (there are a few people I want to kick once just for the hell of it).. or as I would officially say.. looking forward to helping the site, oh well people know I would not not abuse my power (this is a joke by the way... or is it).
So why run for moderator, well some people might want to help out on the site, become more involved in the experience that is Aven, though they might not be ready for the experience that is admodum, there are many upsides to being a mod, there's respect... or pretend respect while your watching.. and you get to mess with posts.. I mean mod the board, other than that there is the secret realms we dare not speak of, the problem with the unknown if by demons we want to know it.
However of course there are many downsides to being a mod also, you are pretty much going to be public enemy one when something goes wrong, you aren't a member your 'ONE OF THEM', though I say this in a jovial manner, you do have a lot of effort to put in, you need to check posts, move topics and have the joy of dealing with any problems that are thrown your way, and of course if you're new there is trying to be useful enough that the older mods don't eat you, they get peckish from time to time (especially Kelly).
So we can surmise being a mod has its ups and downs, but is it worth it, I would say yes personally, its an experience at the least and you should try to experience everything, the only problem is will you get voted in what is essentially a lot of the time a popularity contest, people say they try to 'vote the right person for the right place', but if we are honest.. which we rarely are if we can help it, if you don't like someone or have a slight bias you are less likely to vote for them (amazingly), and people who are more active are more likely to be noticed than those who lurk.
So Tips for winning an election... be popular and be lucky, though I can give a tip I got from the great Cale Ceaser on how to win an Aven election I am running so why would I do that XD, but I am sure I will edit it and add it on after the election whatever happens.
So well yes if your running good luck, if your voting, vote for whoever you like, and I am quite proud myself for not trying to add any shameless self publicity in this post at all so goodbye and vote for me.

The Return of Chat

So rather than going for an amazing real first post with shards of light followed by angelical music from cherubim and harping angels, I will just get straight to a topic and that topic is the fantabulous existence that has returned which is Chat.
Many of us were I believe sad at the death of the old chat, watching as the admods gave it its last rights, put it on a boat set it out to the ocean and then set it on fire with flaming arrows, we were lost for a while until mibbit arrived, attempted to keep the urges at bay with Msn group chats.
Then we had mibbit and still do, and apart from the process of getting it up and the amount of times I was told off for impersonating Avenites it was and is fantastic fun, I still use it to much joy due to the amount of people who still frequent it and prefer it, indeed many of the more experienced and veteran chatters will use it.
But with the return of Chat on Aven its like seeing an old friend back, one click and its up and the old joyful chaos returns, its easy to use and a lot easier to find than mibbit meaning we get new members coming on, so its new friendships for some right from the beginning, as long as we don't scare them off too soon or its easier for new members to come and ask questions (whether they get the answer they want is a different matter).
So its good for new members but is is it good for old members, well yes, many didn't like mibbit or many who liked old chat are over joyed with the new Aven chat, this return of an old friend allows for fun and many members I personally havent chatted with since the old went down I am chatting with once more, the lack of a pm is difficult but then I have mibbit and forum Pm's for that and I never really used them anyway, as for the lack of an ability to change names.. well it makes it a lot easier to know who you are talking too.
So overall its a big Huzzah from me as the old chat fun begins and mibbit is still there so for a lot of fun and easy use I can go to chat, for some chaos or just to see the great Gatto there's still mibbit, its a win win situation really.

Welcome to the new Aven blog, brought to you by PT actually do do stuff, the letter A and the number 666

This blog is something that will follow different aspects of Asexuality, things happening on Aven and just simple musings, if you have something you would like brought to my attention just send me Akira a Pm on Aven, or to our email also on Aven.

Every week there will also hopefully be a special guest, a user chosen to post something of their choice.

Though there is no fixed date for contributions I will attempt to get stuff up every week, so please enjoy and all feedback is welcome.
